TITLE: MALAYSIAN INSTITUTE OF ACCOUNTANTS (MIA) APPOINTS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

MIA is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Wan Ahmad Rudirman Wan Razak as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MIA with effect from 28 March 2022.

Dr Wan Ahmad Rudirman succeeds Dr. Nurmazilah Dato’ Mahzan whose contract term ended on 4 February 2022.

As MIA continues to evolve, Dr Wan Ahmad Rudirman will bring a proven record of strategic leadership, operational excellence, and extensive skills in corporate finance and business restructuring to steer the Institute in alignment with its nation building purpose.

Prior to joining MIA, Dr Wan Ahmad Rudirman amassed extensive C-suite experience in GLCs and PLCs. His last role was as the President/Group Chief Executive Officer of Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd (Terengganu Inc), the strategic investment arm of the State Government of Terengganu.

He led Terengganu Inc’s restructuring exercise to streamline and strengthen the Group across diverse sectors including Plantation, Oil & Gas Support Services, Natural Resources, Real Estate, Property Development & Construction and Healthcare.

His other career highlights include roles as:

  • The Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director of SeliaEkuiti Sdn Bhd, the holding company for engineering andconstruction based Selia Group, where he spearheaded theGroup’s eventual listing on Bursa Malaysia.
  • The Group Chief Operating Officer and Group General Manager(Operation Services) of KUB Malaysia Berhad and Boardmember of KUB’s various subsidiaries.
  • Head of Corporate Strategy at Malaysia Airports HoldingsBerhad, where he led the Corporate Strategy division underthe Managing Director’s Office, responsible for developing andexecuting a 5-year Business Plan and Key PerformanceIndicators for senior management.

As the incoming CEO, Dr Wan Ahmad Rudirman will steer MIA inits pursuit of excellence in its role as a regulator and indeveloping the profession for the benefit of members and thepublic interest. MIA hopes that all members will extend their fullsupport to Dr Wan Ahmad Rudirman.
