Sarawak
Branch helps out Special Children
Further continuing
with the Accountants Care Too campaign to which aims to help those who need it,
MIA Sarawak Branch staff delivered 50 toys to the children of the Early
Intervention Programme (four to six years) in Perkata Special School in Kuching.
The school principal, Doreen Tie, received the toys from MIA Sarawak Branch
Vice-Chairman Yeo Ah Tee.
Soon after that, the Sarawak Branch staff, in collaboration with Diploma in
Accountancy Society of UiTM Sarawak Campus collected stationeries from members
and member firms and donated them to older children from the same school.
Perkata Special School is operated by Persatuan Bagi Kebajikan Kanak-kanak
Terencat Akal, Sarawak. These intellectually disabled children from four to 17
years of age (currently 160 children) attend regular school sessions with a
curriculum aimed at giving them a chance to achieve greater personal
independence and social skills.
