Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar Shares His Personal Experiences on Integrity
The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) marks the 50th Anniversary of its establishment on 30th September this year. In conjunction with its Golden Anniversary, the MIA is hosting three 50th Anniversary Commemorative Lectures presented by iconic MIA members whose lectures will respectively be centred on the MIA 50th Anniversary theme of Integrity, Accountability and Trust.
The inaugural 50th Anniversary Commemorative Lecture features Group Chairman of Permodalan Nasional Berhad, Y Bhg Tan Sri Abdul Wahid, who would be sharing his personal experiences, thoughts and ideas on the topic Integrity in Action. Following the Lecture, Y Bhg Tan Sri Abdul Wahid will address questions from the floor at a session moderated by MIA President Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi.
MIA President Dato’ Mohammad Faiz said the Commemorative Lecture focuses on the three core values of the accountancy profession - Integrity, Accountability and Trust.
“Therefore, it would be a good opportunity for members to engage with our thought leaders as they share their experiences on these three core values. The Commemorative Lecture is also a means of giving back to the society,” he added.
At the event, Tan Sri Wahid Omar was presented with an appreciation memento in the form of a glass sculpture designed and created by renowned artist and sculptor, Raja Azhar Idris. The MIA had specifically selected the designer and memento as part of the institute’s efforts in supporting Malaysian artisans.
