SENIOR MANAGER – PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES & TECHNICAL

 

The successful candidate will assist the Executive Director of the Professional Practices & Technical Division in managing the division's activities mainly on Capital Market, Integrated Reporting, Ethics and issues affecting professional accountants in business (PAIB). The incumbent is also expected to assist in providing technical support to the division/Institute, its Council and members and handling relevant technical matters affecting the Institute.

 

Requirements:

  • Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years' experience in a managerial position, and currently employed with a public listed entity or major/medium-sized firm of accountants
  • Possess knowledge on Capital Market is an added advantage
  • Able to conduct research, solve technical issues and review technical papers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of self-motivation, results oriented and able to work independently
  • Able to inspire confidence, influence others and rise up to challenges constructively

MANAGER – SMALL & MEDIUM PRACTICES

 

The successful candidate shall assist the Deputy Head, Small & Medium Practices (SMP) to spearhead all initiatives and activities pertaining to Quality Assessment Programme and to conduct training to support the development of SMPs. The incumbent will also put in place necessary programme in enhancing audit quality of SMPs.

 

Requirements:

  • Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in both major audit firm and SMP firm, and must be in current employment as a Manager 
  • Extensive practical knowledge of international and local accounting as well as auditing standards
  • Possess the ability to facilitate training programmes would be an added advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with excellent command in spoken and written English
  • Good leadership skills and with the ability to inspire, motivate and influence people
  • Highly professional, dependable and committed to meet multiple timelines

MANAGER – ENFORCEMENT & LEGAL

(INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE – ACCOUNTING)

 

The successful candidate will assist the Investigation Committee of the Institute in investigating complaints against MIA members which involves, among others, reviews of audit working papers to establish and evaluate the compliance with accounting and auditing standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Tertiary or professional qualification in Accountancy and a member of MIA
  • At least 5 years of audit experience, and must be in current employment as a Manager with a major or medium-sized audit firm of accountants
  • Possess strong analytical skills and must be good in report writing
  • Good knowledge of Auditing and Accounting Standards
  • Able to meet tight timelines and work under a challenging and dynamic working environment
  • Motivated, results oriented and able to work independently

The successful candidate will work with the Team Lead, MIA Conference Unit in planning, producing and managing the Institute’s special conferences, aiming to contribute towards overall achievements of the Professional Development Division’s strategic and operational goals/targets.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Studies/Marketing/Accountancy or other related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in producing training programmes/events and sourcing speakers for courses
  • Possess wide knowledge in the latest trends of event management
  • Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written
  • Good project management skills, energetic, creative and innovative
  • High degree of self-motivation, results oriented and able to work independently
  • Meticulous, enthusiastic and able to interact with people at all levels professionally

The successful candidate will assist the Manager, Special Projects Unit to record and edit relevant videos in leveraging the digital platform to establish MIA as a one-stop resource and knowledge centre, whilst archiving and managing MIA’s digital media library.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Creative Multimedia/Design/Art or other related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience 
  • Proficient with Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Video Editing Software, Videography and DSLR
  • Able to add, embellish and/or build on an idea to create fresh end products
  • Creative, open-minded, inquisitive with positive attitude
  • High degree of self-motivation, results oriented and meticulous
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

The successful candidate will work with the Team Lead, Sponsorship & Business Development Unit in managing sponsorships relating to the MIA International Accountants Conference and other key events of the Institute. The incumbent will also responsible to sell advertisement spaces in the Institute’s magazine and managing other relevant administrative matters of the unit.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Studies/Marketing or other related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years sales and marketing administrative experience 
  • Good organisation skills and has the ability to plan and execute all duties effectively and efficiently
  • Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written
  • Experience in managing online system/software and knowledge of data analytics/statistic is an added advantage
  • High degree of self-motivation, results oriented and able to work people independently
  • Presentation and negotiation skills would be an added advantage
  • Able to interact with people at all levels professionally

The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day activities of the CEO's Office which include assisting the CEO in area of digital communication & media, and performing other tasks as assigned.                                  

 

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing Diploma/Degree in Business Administration/Information Technology/Computer Science or other related discipline
  • Good knowledge on digital media and communication technology is preferred
  • Possess good attitude and analytical skills
  • Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Internship period: three (3) to six (6) months
