Chairman's Message ![]() Thank you for checking out the webpage of the Public Practice Committee (PPC) of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). The main vision of PPC is to be of value to the Members and also raise our Standards to be amongst the best in the World. We have many issues affecting us such as Audit, Tax and Insolvency licenses. Additionally, there are concerns of practice review by the Practice Review Department of MIA or by the Audit Oversight Baord. There are also the issues of having adequate and reliable Managers and Staff, CPE and training and of course the delivery of quality services. Last but not the least we have to manage the challenges of billings, cash flow, statutory compliance and succession planning. It is the objective of PPC to assist Members to face the aforementioned challenges in the context of maintaining high standards and quality. We will also have to strategize and find ways to reduce the red tape by looking into the procedures followed by our profession in other progressive countries. Our Prime Minister has initiated the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) and established PEMUDA primarily to reduce red tape and move us to a higher value added nation. We toocould add value and quality to public practice. As part of our improvement and engagement process, we will continue to obtain views from you - professional accountants in public practice - as well as regulatory and relevant organizations and bring them to the attention and action by our MIA Council. Thank you. Dato' Narendra Kumar Jasani |
