Policy & Sectoral Development To date, MIA has 29559 members. As the national regulatory body for accountants, MIA strives to further develop the profession and maintain the quality of the profession. This is because accountants contribute greatly towards protecting public interest through the work that they do. Recognising its paramount role in protecting public interest and maintaining the credibility of the profession, MIA works towards regulating the profession through its three main approaches towards regulating the profession which are:- i) education and development ii) promoting professional standards and values iii) discharging its responsibility of surveillance and enforcement. These are seen as areas that are crucial in spearheading the way forward for the profession. Towards this end, there is a constant need to ensure that there are adequate resources to support the execution of these approaches.
