MANAGER – REGULATORY GUIDELINES

 

The successful candidate will assist the Technical Director in handling issues relating to regulatory guidelines / regulations / rules / Acts including those issued by Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission, Companies Commission of Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia and relevant government agencies; and managing the day-to-day operations of the Professional Standards and Practices Department including administration of the department and its personnel in relation to all technical matters affecting the Institute, its Council and members.

 

Job Requirements:-

Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA

At least 2 years of related working experience as a Audit Manager from a Big Four Firm or Medium size firm

Exposure to special assignments such as listing exercise and due diligence is a pre-requisite

Involvement in facilitating training and ability to conduct training is an added advantage

Able to conduct research and solving technical issues and is technically sound

Has passion in learning and sharing knowledge

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

High sense of urgency and able to meet tight timelines

High degree of self-motivation, results oriented and able to work independently

Able to inspire confidence, influence others and rise up to challenges constructively

MANAGER – TAX

 

The incumbent will assist the Technical Director in managing tax related activities, providing technical support and advisory role to the Institute, its Council and members on tax related matters and handling the day-to-day operations of the Professional Standards and Practices Department including the administration of the Department and its personnel in relation to all technical matters affecting the Institute.

 

Job Requirements:-

Possess professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA

At least 2 years of related working experience in a managerial capacity from a Big Four Firm or Medium size firm

Involvement in facilitating training and ability to conduct training would be an added advantage

Strong technical knowledge in tax related matters

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Independent with good analytical skills and ability to deal with people of all levels

Resourceful and able to conduct research on related discipline and has passion in learning and sharing knowledge

ASSISTANT MANAGER – COMMUNICATIONS

 

The successful candidate will be responsible in providing assistance and support to the Head of Department in managing the daily operations of the Communications Department.

 

Job Requirements:-

Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communications, Journalism or any related qualification

At least 2 years of related working experience in a managerial or supervisory role

Ability to write impactful speeches, press releases and other communications materials is a pre-requisite

Has exposure in business journalism would be an added advantage

Possess an establish network and strong personal contacts with the media

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English

Excellent time management skills and able to meet tight deadlines

Have a good general knowledge of the Malaysian business, financial and capital market environment

Experience in developing and coordinating effective plans for internal and external communications

Mature, articulate, dynamic, meticulous and a people person

SENIOR EXECUTIVE – EXECUTIVE OFFICE

 

The successful candidate will assist the Executive Director in all administrative and corporate matters managed by the Executive Director. This would include handling all administrative duties in respect of Council meetings and the Institute’s Annual General Meetings, updating the monthly progress reports on the IFAC Compliance Programme and the Institute’s Operational Plan, sending out notices to various committees, taking minutes of meetings and providing other day-to-day secretarial support and assistance to the Executive Director.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a MAICSA qualification with at least 3 years corporate administration experience reporting to Senior Management
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills and is very result-oriented
  • Meticulous, good analytical skills and effective multi-tasking abilities
  • Mature, self motivated and independent with strong sense of responsibility and initiative
  • Pleasant personality, strong interpersonal skills and able to interact with all levels of people confidently
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Office application

EXECUTIVE - FINANCE

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of reports, collections of income, preparation of bank reconciliation statements and other accounting related functions.

 

Job Requirements:-

At least a Diploma in Accounting / LCCI / or equivalent

Possess a professional qualification would be an added advantage

At least 2 years related working experience

Familiar with computerized accounting systems and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Independent, diligent, meticulous and ability to meet tight reporting deadlines

EXECUTIVE- MARKETING & PROMOTIONS

 

The successful candidate will be assisting Head of Department to coordinate and supervise all marketing & promotions activities to fulfil the Institute’s policy objectives and provide members with quality resources and supports through the following major responsibilities:-

 

Responsibilities include:

Co-ordinate the Institute’s activities with respect to membership promotions and recruitment.

Assist in secure sponsorships, endorsement and exhibition support.

Assist in proposing new benefits programme to the Institute.

Promote member benefits programmes and services which support members in pursuit of their professional and business advancement at MIA events & seminars.

Assist in all marketing related activities and business development.

Provide timely reports on marketing activities.

 

Job Requirements:-

Degree in Management, Marketing, Mass communication/Business/ Economics or related fields.

At least 2 – 3 years’ marketing experience.

Good command of English and Malay, interpersonal and communication skills.

Possess own transport.

EXECUTIVE - ADMINISTRATIONS (JB BRANCH)

 

The successful candidate will assist the Johor Bahru Branch Manager in the day-to-day administrative duties including handling enquiries on matters relating to membership of the Institute, deal with media relations and provide secretariat support as and when required by the branch committee and working groups. He / She will also assist in seminars and events organised by the Institute.

 

Job Requirements:-

Diploma / Degree in Business Administration or related discipline.

At least 2 years related working experience, preferably in organising conferences and seminars and handling media relations.

Must be customer oriented with effective communication and analytical skills.

Conversant with English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written.

Strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact with people at all levels.

Be proactive and results-oriented, able to work independently and be a team player.

Be computer literate.

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
(CONTRACT - 2 YEARS)

 

The successful candidate will assist the Manager in coordinating the Institute's activities in respect of the Institute’s membership recruitment and development. He/She will be required to visit firms and organizations to promote the membership of the Institute. He/She will be required to give talks and participate in exhibitions and activities to promote and disseminate information on the Institute.

 

Job Requirements:-

Degree in Management / Marketing / Mass communication / Business Administration / Economics or related fields

At least 2 – 3 years relevant marketing experience

An outgoing personality with strong communication and presentation skills

Possess own transport

FRONT DESK ASSISTANT – RESOURCES CENTRE

 

The successful candidate will handle all daily incoming and outgoing calls. Other duties would include handling all general enquiries and providing general information regarding the Institute and the accountancy profession to members, attending to members and students using the MIA Resource Centre, to receive delivery of books and other goods purchased and/or donated to the Resource Centre and other administrative duties.

 

Job Requirements:-

At least SPM / Certificate in related field

Have good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia

Experience in related filed is an advantage

Good interpersonal skills and possess a pleasant personality

Enjoys dealing with people
