MANAGER/ASSISTANT MANAGER – PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

(MIA CONFERENCE UNIT)

 

The successful candidate will be responsible in securing sponsors by selling sponsorship packages of MIA Conference to the targeted companies, organizations, professional bodies and associations.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Studies/Marketing or other related discipline
  • At least 4 years relevant working experience in the areas of sponsorship and/or marketing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written
  • A self-starter with high degree of self-motivation, results oriented and able to work independently
  • Analytical with strong customer focus and excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Able to interact with people at all levels professionally

ASSISTANT MANAGER – PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS & PRACTICES

(ACCOUNTING/AUDITING)

 

The successful candidates will assist the Senior Manager and/or Director in managing Accounting/ Auditing activities, providing technical support to the Institute, its Council and members and handling the day-to-day operations of the Professional Standards and Practices Division including the administration of the division and its personnel in relation to all technical matters affecting the Institute.

 

Requirements:

  • Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA
  • At least 4 years of audit experience, and must be in current employment as Assistant Manager with a major or medium size audit firm
  • Involvement in facilitating training and ability to conduct training is an added advantage
  • Able to conduct research and solving technical issues and is technically sound
  • Has passion in learning and sharing knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of self-motivation, results oriented and able to work independently
  • Able to inspire confidence, influence others and rise up to challenges constructively

 

ASSISTANT MANAGER – ENFORCEMENT

(INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE – ACCOUNTING)

 

The successful candidate will assist the Investigation Committee of the Institute in investigating complaints against MIA members which involves, among others, reviews of audit working papers to establish and evaluate the compliance with accounting and auditing standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Tertiary or professional qualification in Accountancy and a member of MIA
  • At least 4 years of experience as Audit Senior, and must be in current employment with a major or medium size audit firm
  • Possess strong analytical skills and must be good in report writing
  • Good knowledge of Auditing and Accounting Standards
  • Able to meet tight timelines and work under a challenging and dynamic working environment
  • Motivated, results oriented and able to work independently

ASSISTANT MANAGER – FINANCIAL STATEMENTS REVIEW

 

The successful candidate will assist the Head of FSR & CPE Compliance to offer technical expertise to the Financial Statements Review Committee (FSRC) and drive the financial statements surveillance programme in monitoring the quality of financial statements that are prepared by or are the responsibility of members of MIA, for the purpose of determining compliance with statutory and other requirements, approved accounting standards and approved auditing standards; and generally accepted accounting and auditing standards and practices.

 

Requirements:

  • Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA
  • Minimum 3 years of audit experience, and must be in current employment with a major or medium size audit firm.
  • Familiar with accounting standards, auditing standards and other statutory requirements in relation to financial reporting
  • Resourceful and able to conduct research on related discipline
  • Able to identify inconsistencies or uncertainties with respect of the preparation and presentation of financial statements and issues relating to financial reporting 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of self-motivation and able to work independently
  • Able to inspire confidence and rise up to challenges constructively

ASSISTANT MANAGER – MEMBERSHIP SERVICES

 

The successful candidate will assist the Head of Membership Services on membership recruitment drive activities (plan and execute marketing strategies in order to achieve department’s target) and lead projects undertaken by the department.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Administration/Marketing or other related discipline
  • At least 4 years of working experience, preferably in Marketing
  • Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Fluency in spoken English is essential
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to conduct presentations
  • A self-starter, result oriented and a good team player
  • Presentable appearance and pleasant personality

 

SENIOR EXECUTIVE – PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

(CPE PROGRAMMES UNIT)

 

The successful candidate will support the CPE Programme Unit’s goals by promoting customized in-house training programmes to corporate clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Business Studies/Marketing or other related discipline
  • At least 3 years relevant working experience in the areas of training, market research and/or business development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written
  • A self-starter with high degree of self-motivation, results oriented and able to work independently
  • Analytical with strong customer focus and excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Able to interact with people at all levels professionally

JUNIOR EXECUTIVE – PRACTICE REVIEW

 

The successful candidate will be responsible to assist in managing the day-to-day administration of the Practice Review Department, which will include attend to queries from member firms on practice review, prepare & distribute notifications of review/files selected for review, update the department’s database and other relevant duties as assigned by the immediate superior.

 

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting/Business Administration or other related discipline
  • 1 - 2 years relevant working experience
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to interact with people at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to multi-task, meticulous, proactive and a team player
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision

JUNIOR EXECUTIVE – PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

 

The successful candidates will work with the Executives and Managers of Professional Development assisting in the day-to-day administration of training programmes, seminars and conferences which will include, inter alia, customer enquiries, data entry, participant enrolments and confirmation, following up on receivables and onsite duties and generally assisting in all aspects of event administration and customer relations duties.

 

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Business Administration or other related discipline
  • 1 - 2 years relevant working experience
  • Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written
  • Able to multi-task, pay attention to details and meet deadlines
  • Able to interact with people at all levels professionally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
