SENIOR MANAGER – AUDIT & ASSURANCE

 

The successful candidate will manage the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board activities, providing technical support to the Institute, its Council and members on Auditing and Assurance and handling the day-to-day operations of the Professional Standards and Practices Department including the administration of the Department and its personnel in relation to all technical matters affecting the Institute.

 

Job Requirements:-   

Ÿ  Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA

Ÿ  At least 5 years of related working experience as a Audit Manager from a Big Four Firm or Medium size firm

Ÿ  Involvement in facilitating training and ability to conduct training is an added advantage

Ÿ  Able to conduct research and solving technical issues and is technically sound

Ÿ  Has passion in learning and sharing knowledge

Ÿ  Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ÿ  High sense of urgency and able to meet tight timelines

Ÿ  Able to inspire confidence, influence others and rise up to challenges constructively

 

SENIOR MANAGER – FINANCIAL STATEMENTS REVIEW

 

The successful candidate will undertake reviews of financial statements, directors’ report, auditor’s report and any statement of selected listed and non-listed companies for the purpose of determining compliance with statutory and other requirements, approved accounting standards and approved auditing standards, and generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards and practices.

 

Requirements:

 

·      Tertiary or professional qualification in Accountancy and a member of MIA who has at least attained the level of Audit Manager in a large or medium size practice of accountants in Malaysia or overseas

·      At least 8 years of audit experience, and must be in current employment with a large or medium size firm of accountants or is able to demonstrate equivalent experience

·      Good working knowledge of international and local financial reporting standards

·      Good working knowledge of international and local standards on auditing

·      Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

MANAGER – REGULATORY GUIDELINES

 

The successful candidate will assist the Technical Director in handling issues relating to regulatory guidelines / regulations / rules / Acts including those issued by Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission, Companies Commission of Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia and relevant government agencies; and managing the day-to-day operations of the Professional Standards and Practices Department including administration of the department and its personnel in relation to all technical matters affecting the Institute, its Council and members.

 

Job Requirements:-   

Ÿ  Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA

Ÿ  At least 2 years of related working experience as a Audit Manager from a Big Four Firm or Medium size firm

Ÿ  Exposure to special assignments such as listing exercise and due diligence is a pre-requisite

Ÿ  Involvement in facilitating training and ability to conduct training is an added advantage

Ÿ  Able to conduct research and solving technical issues and is technically sound

Ÿ  Has passion in learning and sharing knowledge

Ÿ  Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ÿ  High sense of urgency and able to meet tight timelines

Ÿ  High degree of self-motivation, results oriented and able to work independently

Ÿ  Able to inspire confidence, influence others and rise up to challenges constructively

 

MANAGER – TAX

 

The successful candidate will assist the Technical Director in managing tax related activities, providing technical support and advisory role to the Institute, its Council and members on tax related matters and handling the day-to-day operations of the Professional Standards and Practices Department including the administration of the Department and its personnel in relation to all technical matters affecting the Institute.

 

Job Requirements:-   

·       Possess professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA

·       At least 2 years of related working experience in a managerial capacity from a Big Four Firm or Medium size firm

·       Involvement in facilitating training and ability to conduct training would be an added advantage

·       Strong technical knowledge in tax related matters

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·       Independent with good analytical skills and ability to deal with people of all levels

·       Resourceful and able to conduct research on related discipline and has passion in learning and sharing knowledge

 

MANAGER - ACCOUNTING & FRSIC

 

The successful candidate will assist the Senior Manager and/or Technical Director in managing Financial Reporting Standards Implementation Committee (FRSIC) activities, providing technical support to the Institute, its Council and members and handling the day-to-day operations of the Professional Standards and Practices Department including the administration of the Department and its personnel in relation to all technical matters affecting the Institute.

 

Requirements:-

Ÿ    Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA

Ÿ    At least 2 years of relevant working experience as an Audit Manager from a Big Four Firm or Medium size firm

The successful candidate will assist the Senior Manager and/or Technical Director in managing Ethics related activities, providing technical support to the Institute, its Council and members on Ethics and Assurance; and managing the day-to-day operations of the Professional Standards and Practices Department including administration of the Department and its personnel in relation to all technical matters affecting the Institute.

 

Requirements:-

ASSISTANT MANAGER - MIA POFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (MPDC)

 

The successful candidates will report to the Head of MIA Professional Development Centre (MPDC) and will be responsible for producing and managing training programmes, seminars, conferences and special educational events organised by the Institute mainly for its members, which will include, inter alia; planning, undertaking research on topics, liaison and securing speakers, project budgeting, preparation of publicity materials, arrangement with venues/hotels, managing marketing activities, on-site management of events and preparation of post event financials and management reporting.

 

Requirements:-

·       Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related discipline

·       3 – 5 years working experience in producing and managing training programmes and conferences

·      Able to gather training related information in the areas of Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), Financial & Management Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, Finance and Corporate Law & Governance as well general management

·       Exposure in the accountancy profession would be an added advantage

·       Able to network and secure speakers for training programmes/seminars/conferences

·       Possess excellent command of English and project management skills

·       Be proficient in MS-Office software applications

·       Able to manage and lead subordinates

 

ASSISTANT MANAGER – COMMUNICATIONS

 

The successful candidate will be responsible in providing assistance and support to the Head of Communications in managing the daily communications activities which includes developing, managing and executing a comprehensive range of communication initiatives with the objective of placing the Institute to be a globally recognized and respected business partner committed to nation building.

 

Job Requirement:

·       Degree in Public Relations/Mass Communications/Journalism or relevant qualification

·       At least 3 years experience in communications

·       Has exposure in business journalism would be an added advantage

·       Have a good general knowledge of the Malaysian business, financial and capital market environment

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·       Possess strong media contacts and has good negotiation skills

·       Results driven and able to meet tight deadlines

·       Mature, articulate, dynamic, meticulous and a people’s person

 

SENIOR EXECUTIVE – EDUCATION (SALES & MARKETING)

 

The successful candidate will report to the Head - Education Department of the Institute to execute and supervise all marketing activities to generate revenues for the Institute through the following major responsibilities:

 

  1. Advertising and promotions activities through the Institute’s journal;
  2. Strategic collaboration with corporations;
  3. Database rental and email broadcast;
  4. Promote the latest technical publications, products and services; and
  5. Other revenue generating activities

 

Requirements:-

·       Degree in Management, Marketing, Mass communication / Business / Economics or related fields.

·       At least 3 years related working experience preferably in marketing & promotions activities

·       Be proficient in MS-Office software applications

·       Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written

·       Able to work independently with minimum supervision

·       Able to plan, attention to details and good organisation skills

 

SENIOR EXECUTIVE – BRIDGING PROGRAMME (EDUCATION)

 

The successful candidate will report to the Manager – Bridging Programme of Education Department of the Institute. He/She will assist day to day work of the Bridging Programme as well as handle secretarial duties and administrative support which include taking and writing minutes of meetings, reports, liaising with Council Members and Managers of the Institute.

 

Requirements:-

·           Degree in Accountancy or Finance, member of MIA

·           2-3 years experience preferably in education programme coordinator or in handling training or education courses.  Knowledge about module assessment is an added advantage

·           Able to interact with people at all levels and good teamwork

·           Confident , mature and good report writing skills

·           Have an excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written

·           Be computer literate with hands-on experience especially in MS Office software’s

 

MEMBERSHIP EXECUTIVE

 

The successful candidate will assist the Manager to coordinate activities to promote the membership of the Institute. He/She will be required to visit organizations to give talks, participate in exhibitions and other membership recruitment drive activities to achieve the said objective.

 

Requirements:-

·      Degree in Management, Marketing, Mass communication/Business/ Economics or related fields

·      At least 2 – 3 years relevant marketing experience

·      An outgoing personality with strong communication and presentation skills

·      Possess own transport

 

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – CONTRACT (3 vacancies)

 

The successful candidate will assist the Manager in the day to day administrative duties. He/She will also assist in handling enquiries on related matters affecting the department.

 

Requirements:-

Ÿ  STPM/Diploma or equivalent

Ÿ  Have good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written

Ÿ  Able to interact with people at all levels.

Ÿ  A self-starter and results-oriented, able to work independently and be a team player

Ÿ  Computer literate with hands-on experience especially in Microsoft Office

Ÿ  Experience in handling databases is an added advantage

Ÿ  Willingness to work long hours, when necessary
