PAIB Committee

The Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) was formed to provide for the development and support of members who are professional accountants in business in the country and to provide a forum for exchange of information regarding current developments and emerging issues that shape the profession.

The Committee plays a proactive role to enhance the quality and standard of management accounting practices in Malaysia. The Committee holds workshops and seminars to create awareness among members and practitioners.

In affiliation with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the Committee participates in reviewing practices and current issues affecting the professional accountants in business as well as processes in which accountants play their role.

Terms of References

2.1	To study and/or review suitable publications issued by the Professional Accountants in Business Committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and/or other relevant sources and to promote the publications to members and the public at large.
2.2	To provide a channel for exchange of information to members and member bodies of IFAC regarding current developments and emerging issues that are of importance to professional accountants in business.
2.3	To recommend topics for seminars and other programs that are relevant to professional accountants in business.
2.4	To identify and recommend research subjects/topics of current issues and/or matters of importance to professional accountants in business.
2.5	To develop and issue to members statements of best practices in areas of critical importance to professional accountants in business.
2.6	To promote the value of professional accountants in business.
