MIA’s e-Career
Project
On 7 August 2006, MIA organised a meeting with representatives from various
universities with the aim to introduce MIA e-Career project. A total of 20
representatives (ranging from Deans, Lecturers, Head of Accounting Department
and the registrar) attended the meeting.
The MIA e-Career is a project in the form of recruitment service designed to
assist graduates from universities to secure positions with accounting firms
registered with MIA. The meeting achieved its objectives and the Institute
gathered strong support, feedback and suggestions from the representatives. The
meeting acted as a platform for the Institute to evaluate and to ensure the
potential effectiveness before embarking on the said e-Career project.
Besides acting as a ‘match-maker’ between students and their future employers,
the MIA e-Career also helps build relationships and encourage students to become
members of the Institute.
The MIA e-Career portal was launched at the Accounting Students Conference in
USM during the opening ceremony of the conference on the 25 November 2007.
