National Accountants Conference 2006
The National
Accountants Conference (NAC) 2006, themed “Accountants: Generating Growth,
Building Confidence” was organised by MIA from 31 October 2006 – 1 November 2006
at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. It attracted the participation on
approximately 1,800 participants. It was officiated by YB Dato' Dr Awang Adek
Hussin, Deputy Minister of Finance II.
At the conference, MIA’s president Abdul Rahim Abdul Hamid also signed a mutual
recognition agreement with the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI)’s
president Ahmadi Hadibroto. The objective of the MRA was to provide for the
mutual recognition of both parties of the other’s membership.
In the evening
of the first day, the delegates were treated to a hi-tea session which was
followed by a live-performance by The Three Degrees. They are remembered as the
artistes who sang the song “ When Will I See You Again’ back in the 1970s.
