e-MIA TOTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The Institute has implemented a membership-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system called the e-MIA Total Management System (e-MIA TMS). On March 22, 2004, the Institute had the signing ceremony of a Software Users Agreement (SUA) with Mesdaq listed company Karensoft Technology Berhad. Witnessing the signing were MIA Registrar, Encik Mohamad Abdullah and General Manager Marketing of Karensoft Berhad, Mr. Anthony Ong.
On Sept 29, 2004 the Institute kicked off the implementation of its Balanced Scorecard project. The main objective of this endeavour is ensure that the goals of the Institute that are set out in the Strategic Blueprint - which guides the strategic direction of the Institute – are achieved.

MIA Salutes the Outgoing and Incoming Accountant-Generals
On April 27, 2004, the Institute and the MICPA jointly organised a special dinner to thank the former Accountant-General, Datuk Siti Maslamah Osman and welcome the new Accountant-General, Encik Othman Abdullah. The dinner was attended by the Institute's President and Council members as well as representatives from other professional accountancy bodies.
National Annual Private Educational Institutions Exhibition
The Accountancy Pavilion, which was hosted by MIA during the two-day National Association of Private Educational Institutions (NAPEI) 2004 Exhibition at the Midvalley Exhibition Centre on March 13 to 14, this year received encouraging response from students, parents and other interested parties who were seeking information about the accounting profession and the opportunities it has to offer.
